Queereeoké

Queereeoké (Hamburg/Berlin)

Place Grosse Halle

Language German and English and French

Duration 3h 30min

Saturday 20.5. 23:00 - 03:30

«Queereeoké» is an ecstatic show, a nightclub experience and a safer space concept where you can express yourself without judgement. The show is designed for the city's LGBTQIA+ community and their allies. Since 2012, the Hamburg original has resided at Kampnagel and provides their local scene with a spirit of solidarity, enabling mutual empowerment and strengthening a sense of belonging. Using the tools of karaoke, spontaneous choreography, anarchic performance art and subversive humour, the result is a unique, interactive show that is equally fun and addictive. The team offer an accessible stage and the magic of an uncompromising support mechanism transforming the Queereeoké space into the ultimate utopia of queer society with its own rules. Everybody can find their voice and self-expression. In short: Queereeoké is the comeback of the queer club - an endangered species of subculture: protest with passion, radiating radical softness, all wrapped up in a sex-positive vibe with consent. The show is an explosion of queer power from dirty to diva - following the motto: it's not how you sing - it's what you bring!

There is a workshop for the LGBTQIA+ community on "Queereeoké".

Before «Queereeoké» the queerfeministischer Raum der Reitschule hosts a double gig that fits perfectly. From 20:30-21:15, svmthox from Basel will play, and from 21:30-22:30, the rapper Finna will perform. The rebel from Germany makes a stand for sexual self-determination, against homophobia and body-shaming with her giant voice.

Listen to Finna.
