Les Thermes – Intervention by Celin Sithy Fässler

Place Grosse Halle

Language German

Duration 30min

Tuesday 16.5. 18:00 - 18:30

Les Thermes is a large wooden pool with 25,000 plastic balls that invites you to take a moral bath in Stoic philosophy. You can either enjoy a free swim in the pool or visit one of the interventions in which various guests apply Stoic principles to the themes of the festival and provide further food for thought and discussion.

Celin Sithy Fässler was adopted from Sri Lanka to Switzerland in 1982. She became preoccupied with her own origins at an early age and has been working for Back to the Roots for several years. This organisation was founded in 2018 by adopted persons from Sri Lanka and campaigns for the concerns of adopted persons in Switzerland: on a political, social and emotional level.

In her intervention, Celin addresses aspects that are triggering on many levels - up to the stoic bearing of one's own situation and history. But what if confrontation and debate are the key to a "healthy" approach to one's own history?
