For Real
«For Real» is a theatrical radio-show on what it means to matter. As an audience-member, you are a guest in our radio-studio. Over the speakers, you hear the voices of fourteen women. They analyse the intellectual undermining, starting from their personal and professional experiences with sexism on the mind and soul. How does this influence your sense of self, your trust, the building of relationships, and eventually: the course of life?
The spectators complete the investigation by stepping to the microphone themselves. These interactions are carried by a new technique of improvising, in which the musicians support risky and honest conversations as they unfold. Each performance of FOR REAL will be recorded and released as a podcast-episode. This creates a sounding collection of your voices on what it means to matter: to have dignity, to feel understood and to be taken seriously.
Listen to the podcast to get in the mood for the performance.
Resonate Productions makes musical journalism by combining in-depth, social journalism with lots of original music.
Easy Read
The performance is like a radio show. You hear voices speaking and the group plays music. Various women talk about what it is like to not be taken seriously. The people in the audience can also tell their own stories.
Surtitles
The English spoken text is surtitled in German and English. The surtitles contain additional information about sounds and music.
Sign Language Interpretation
The performance on May 11th will be partially translated into Swiss German Sign Language (DSGS). Only the improvised parts of the text where the audience interacts with the performers are translated into Sign Language. The rest of the (prerecorded) texts are surtitlted. Places with good visibility to the interpreter are marked.
Interpreter: Tanja Joseph
