Domino Race
Outdoor. Masks. 1.5m distance. Enough space to spread out.
Eight dancers set out on a course through Bern together with the audience. The spectators experience how encounters create movements and movement create images and how one thing leads to another. All the while, the atmosphere of the different locations play an important role. Actions and reactions are transmitted among the people - like in a game of dominoes. A sequence of movements emerges, a chain-reaction across many bodies, reproducing, changing, increasing, varying. The spectators can decide for themselves whether to stop and watch and if they want to move through the city with the dancers.
The artist group Kollektiv F was founded in 2012, target group are children and young people. The work of the collective is characterized by an accessible language of movement and takes up situations from the everyday life of the young audience. You consciously play with closeness and distance, with familiarity and strangeness. In doing so, they generously reach into the magic box of stage art: costumes, stage design, live music or acrobatics – anything to seduce their audience to a journey into the unknown. In 2015, Kollektiv F received the «Off-Stage» grant from the Canton of Bern.
«Domino Race» is presented in cooperation with Tanzfest Bern.
