This year’s AUAWIRLEBEN will take place from May 12th to 22nd 2010 in Berne, Switzerland. This will be the 28th edition of the festival. Eleven productions from Switzerland, Germany, Estonia and Belgium will be shown under the title “Fake Yourself!”
Venues: Schlachthaus Theater, Dampfzentrale, Zentrum Paul Klee, Vidmar:2, Tojo Theater and the festival centre at Turnhalle / PROGR.
Annually for the last 28 years AUAWIRLEBEN has been combining independent theatre productions with productions of established theatre institutions. The festival presents an aesthetically interesting mixture which gives a glimpse on the development of today's theatre. For each festival edition there is a theme, verbalised in a "code". During ten days spectators and theatre artists get together and exchange views: independent as well as institutionalised groups, newcomers and well-known artists meet within the festival. In the festival centre everyone has a chance to hang out together and watch late-night performances, turning night into day.
